Key Informants (KIs) are trained community members who identify children with visual impairment and blindness. Successful programmes require selection of trusted local people, training focused on case finding, supervision, incentives, and use of standard registers. A coordinator (CBLVC) manages activities. Follow-up after cataract surgery improves through tracking systems, phone contact, transport support, counseling, gender consideration, and linkage to secondary care.
